WW: Nesting? Ya Think?

This is not how my pantry normally looks.

This is my pantry on ... 3rd trimester pregnancy hormones.

And it makes me smile everytime I open that door!  It's not alphabetized, but all the "like" foods are happily together - hanging out in those super fabulous black-and-white bins.  Cannot tell you how good it felt to do this ... totally gave me the nesting fix I so desperately needed!

-------------------------------------------------

My nesting tendencies are being put to good use in NHV's new big girl room, too.  It's still a work-in-progress, but the walls (and ceiling and closet and doors) are painted ... the bedding is washed and ready to roll ... and the bed - being hand-crafted by my ridiculously talented husband - is in the final stages of being painted.  As for my part in all this?  Well, I washed the bedding.  And I've been working on a few crafty projects!

NAME:  I bought wooden letters and scrapbook paper (coordinated to the bedding, of course) and modge podged it all together.
CURTAINS:  NHV loves a dark room, and she's a good sleeper ... so I am more than happy to oblige this little requirement.  But the chocolate brown curtains seemed kind of "blah."  Not to worry, nothing a few yards of ribbon and some hemming tape won't solve.  I am even watching videos online to learn how to make bows - to attach to the curtain tabs!
ART:  First, I scanned images from some of NHV's favorite owl books.  Then my dear friend D let me use her color printer ... 'cause Kinkos said they can't make color copies of copyrighted materials ... ooops!  The canvases will be painted chocolate brown, images modge podged, and a clever quote* added.  Should be adorable!  *If you're feeling clever or inspired, I would appreciate suggestions for an "owl" saying to add to the second canvas - in the white space in the middle.

-------------------------------------------------

I know what you're thinking ...

How is she possibly finding the energy for all of this fabulous nesting and crafting?

My secret ... afternoon naps and ...

Somebody, please stop me :)

No wonder lil miss is asking for "mice jack o lantern"...She knows mama is emptying it when she isn't protecting it! LOVE LOVE LOVE the letters. Very cute colors, they will stay with her for a long time-good for toddlerhood and little girl years both! Can't wait to see the finished bed.

I'm jealous of the pantry and of your daughter's big girl room - can't wait to see how it turns out :-)

Oh, and I'm jealous of butterfingers...due to my son's possible nut allergy, I have to lay off the nuts/peanuts while I'm still nursing. It is HARD when most of the candy in my daughter's bucket is Snickers!!

You wanna come to my house for a week? LOL.

You are super crafty! I envy that. I hated the nesting period when I was pregnant

Wow! I hope I get that nesting urge...but I don't think I will because I've never had it before.

Great job! Hope to see you soon.

Hi! I LOVE those letters for Natalie's wall...the color combo, the fun patterns all mixed-and-matched...Oh Oh Oh! So fun for a big girl room! xoxo
PS: That pantry is just so eye pleasing. I haven't done mine to that level yet, but my linen closet/first aid baskets are similiar. :)

Sweet! I love the pantry! I'm envious that you have a pantry AND that it is adorably organized. You are a woman after my own heart, even if I don't currently feel 1/2 as organized :-)

Ah, I'm not the only one in the candy bowl after all ;-)

Seriously, if I ever get to do a room for my kiddos (in our OWN home), I'm recruiting you!

Oh yea, thanks for not using my full name, so that I don't get caught copying those picts for you ;-)

If you find you have the need to do some more nesting/organizing, I can put you to work over here...I'll even supply the sugar buzz! ;)

Happy WW! :)

Hilarious - I just organized my pantry today, too, and even used my new birthday label-maker to label sections of it. Unfortunately I have no third trimester hormones to blame it on; I must just be a freak! And I, too, am in the candy, so I'm sending it with Johny to work tomorrow!

Can't wait to see the finished room. It's going to be incredible. Lucky NHV to have such creative parents.

I need you to come by my house. I just cleaned out our kitchen two weeks ago and it's not holding up. Nesting is really an amazing thing. I remember drawing out the floor plan of my house and planning how I was going to fix it before I had the baby. To be honest it took almost 2 years and I had lost my amazing nesting skills. To cute with the bed room it's going to look amazing.

If you run out of things to organize at your house, I would be happy to help your nesting needs and you can come organize mine! :)

WHOA, can you send some of those hormones over here? I don't need 'em for baby baking, but for just about everything else!

I thought I was OCD (I blogged about it today), but I think your third trimester inspiration takes the cake. You are a domestic goddess!.
