My Secret Revealed

Thank you so much for humoring me and playing along with my secret-keeping. Your comments made this surprise even more exciting and fun and full of happiness.

But I've savored my secret long enough ... and both grandmothers are in the know - please understand, you all couldn't know before them :)

And so it's time for the big reveal ... since Natalie made the announcement, it only seems right that the big sister tell the gender, too.

Natalie is actually saying the word "girl" in this picture; how cute is that? We had a quick photo shoot after her nap today, and yes, I did dress her all in PINK on purpose; I'm clever like that :)

And here's further evidence ... our envelope/note from the ultrasound technician ... you know, the one that light was (surprisingly) able to penetrate:

Oh, and from yesterday's I've Got a Secret post, 8 comments (and the vast majority of my family) guessed BOY, while only 4 comments guessed GIRL. And pretty much every comment called me a tease ... sorry about that and thank you again for putting up with me and making this so much fun :)

Lovely! Though it would have been just as lovely if it were a boy. Congratulations!

LOVE that it's a girl! Having four sisters myself, and now two daughters, there's no better friend than a sister. Congrats!

I so totally called it! CONGRATS to the V family! How exciting...so now, when Shawn and I try for #2 this fall, you'll send baby girl dust my way, right? So happy for you!

Congrats! Now you won't have to buy all new clothes. Everyone I know who is pregnant is having a girl. I still have to wait 3.5 weeks to find out if I'm bucking the trend.

Yeah I voted boy. I voted boy, right. lol. That's so cool. Well it was a sign for you to find out the gender of the baby.

So now the big question....Do you have any names picked out?

=)

I love being right! Congrats! How exciting. And you won't have to buy an all new wardrobe.

Yeah I was wrong...but I have to agree that sisters are a great thing. Wish I could have given Kaylee a sister as well! But instead in her words she got 2 stinky little brothers. :) Sooo happy for you, CP and Natalie too. Love you guys! And Josh wanted to add a big thanks for helping him win the bet.

Congratulations! I have 3 sisters and one poor, lonely brother and will second the notion that sisters are the best (sorry, bro). There is something so special about having built in best friends and makes me second guess my hopes for a boy next time around.
This is my first time here, so I missed being able to call you a tease, but I'm sure I'll make up for that down the road :)

Natalie Lou,
Are you excited about your new baby sister? I bet you are excited! Have you thought of what you guys are going to name her yet? I miss you. Love, Addie Lou

Haven't seen you in person yet to say "YAY" and "Congratulations!" so I am finally resorting to doing so electronically. I guessed you'd have a girl, in part because we know almost no one our age who's had one of each yet. Weird! But of course I have no proof of that since I didn't comment ahead of the reveal, so you can believe me or not. :-)

Very excited for NHV to have a sister; don't know how I'd live without mine!
