Sisters

Oh, that first meeting.
Words cannot express.

NHV has taken to big sisterhood with much enthusiasm and love.
She giggled and smiled and just gazed with such awe.

She must've said the words, "babee sistah" at least a dozen times.

"Babee sistah grew in mommy's be-yy-y."
"Babee sistah ... Charlotte."

"See babee sistah's tootsies."
"Babee sistah's tootsies ... t-I-ny."
She then counted her toes and leaned in for a tootsie kiss.

"Dat babee sistah's naket (blanket)."

And her best observation ...
"Mommy work hard ... get babee sistah out her tummy."

---------------------------------------------------------

I cried.  I smiled.  I suddenly understand ...

A mother's love is infinite.

That is absolutely precious! Enjoy it!

I have found that it takes until the baby is about 18 months and then the older siblings think of the baby as not a baby any more...and then it's ON. But, it's sweet until then. J/K...sort of...

Isn't it just the most amazing moment? One embedded in my memory forever - the innocence, wonder, excitement, curiosity, discovery, and love. It is amazing to me that they know to love this new sibling as part of the family from the instant they meet - they just know the importance of this little person in their young lives! I adore these pictures. Congrats to your family of four!

Every time I read your blog now I end up crying. It's all so beautiful and wonderful. I'm so proud of NHV for being such a good big sister. I feel like I got tootsie kisses vicariously through Natalie.
Way to go V family!

Congratulations. That is so sweet, and you will be so very glad you wrote down these quotes years from now. We wrote one down in a photo book we made, and it was when Riley would say "Baby Lily my family. Baby Lily my friend." Aw... sisters are the best!

I am YET AGAIN weeping on your blog.

Weeping from the beauty of it, the memories of my own life or just because I'm psycho.
